Unlike conventional medicine, which focuses on attempting to treat disease once it occurs, Angrist Chiropractic & Wellness Care emphasizes improving your health in an effort to reduce the risk of pain and illness in the first place. Most people would rather be healthy and avoid illness, if they could. This is one of the main reasons for the big surge in the popularity of our wellness center.
For some, Angrist Chiropractic & Wellness Care will take them back to a place that is cozy and familiar, offering a rediscovery of health and wellness that had been previously known but long lost. For others, the journey may offer a new center, one never before experienced.
People are recognizing the benefit of seeking an alternative to traditional medicine; one that will help them achieve and maintain optimal health. Please take the time to meet the doctor, team, and our wellness network dedicated to helping you achieve your wellness objectives. To fully understand the nature of your health we recommend you join our free website membership program. As a patient at Angrist Chiropractic & Wellness Care, we will personally tailor a wellness program specifically targeted to your wellness needs - using the least invasive, yet highly effective techniques and services.
Our Office Mission
Why is it so important to have flexible muscles and a properly functioning nervous system?
In today’s society we ALL have stress in one form or another. Therefore, it is critical to define exactly what stress is and how it manifests (shows up) in our muscles and impacts our nervous system.
Since the first line of defense from stress IS our muscular and nervous system, the muscles initially react with tension and rigidity. This tightness insidiously limits how we feel, how we move, and how we ultimately function. Since the key to health is VITALITY AND ENERGY, MOTION AND MOBILITY, you can see how stress attacking our muscles can impede how we perform on a daily basis.
There are three categories of stress, that in combination can wreak havoc on us. They are EMOTIONAL (job dissatisfaction, relationships, and finances), PHYSICAL(overweight, poor posture, improper lifting, lack of exercise and rest), and CHEMICAL (sugar, soda, caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, saturated fats and dairy). For more information on understanding the details of these inter-actions please call us or attend the Health and Wellness lectures at our office.
We feel the crux of our health problems are related to HOW WE HANDLE AND ADAPT to all of our stressors. In order to be healthy, we MUST become physically and emotionally flexible and resilient. Each and every day, the choices we make emotionally, physically and chemically will determine our destiny. If we are rigid, we generally don’t handle stress well— If we are pliable and agile, it’s much easier to handle difficult situations well. For example, a tall oak tree that is rigid breaks in the wind, while a reed goes with and bends with the wind.
If our lives are filled with emotional stressors such as anger, resentment, jealousy, judgment, control and fear, it is inevitable that our bodies will pay for that physically. Muscles will tighten and then impede nerve flow and energy throughout the body. Poor posture, lack of exercise and poor diet will also create a similar blockage in our muscular and nervous system.
Our body is essentially like a river flowing. Unfortunately, sometimes a dam (tight muscle) forms in a river (nervous system) and blocks the river from flowing (energy). This is exactly what happens to us— stress bombards our muscles which then act as dams and obstructs blood and nerve flow, the result being back pain, neck pain, headaches, joint stiffness and a myriad of many other problems that we experience in society today.
Being healthy requires learning to OWN AND LIVE a lifestyle that creates openness, flexibility, consciousness, inner peace, balance and adaptability. It’s a PROactive or preventative attitude, not a REactive or symptom-oriented approach.
This process of change takes time and my observations over the past 30 years is that those who make a constant commitment and stay connected with a wellness attitude are the ones that have had the very best chance to obtain the results they want. The most successful patients in my practice are those who have committed to working on their weaknesses and over time, turning them into strengths.
Lastly, this year is an open book and you are the author. Please make every effort to work on you and turn yourself into a healthier person, spiritually, mentally and physically. This will be the best thing you can do for yourself and your family. We are here to support this effort and you can count on us to head you in the right direction.

In conjunction with a wellness lifestyle, we at Angrist Chiropractic Wellness Care believe in the power of comic relief. We are proud partners with the Comedy Cures Foundation, a non-profit organization that brings joy, laughter and therapeutic humor programs to kids and grown-ups living with illness, depression, trauma and disabilities. Through large and small scale therapeutic comedy programs they educate patients, families and caregivers about the power of a comic perspective and the positive benefits of laughter on the body, mind, and spirit. “Yes, laughter is great medicine!” Love, laughter and hope are communicated in every aspect of their unique programs.
Saranne Rothberg, the founder/CEO of the Comedy Cures Foundation is a woman with a simple goal- to help you find joy in your journey. Saranne launched the foundation from her chemo chair in 1999 as an outgrowth of her personal experience with the healing power of a comic perspective. Today, Saranne is cancer-free and has taken Comedy Cures’ life-affirming work to ill patients and families throughout the country.
Comedy Cures broadcast a “Laughing Lunch Break” for 13 months on the most listened to radio station in the country, CBS 1010WINS which featured hilarious performances by 104 of America’s funniest comics. The foundation hosts Comedy Cures Laugh Talk Radio on AM 970 The Apple Live in NY at 11 am EST every Sunday, and they routinely hold Laughing Lunches. In October 2009, Angrist Chiropractic was invited to attend a Laughing Lunch where we were able to experience a motivational, inspirational, laughter-rich performance, after which we presented Comedy Cures with a generous donation from our patients.
